Kyoto Sanzen-in Temple + Ginkaku-ji Temple Tips ๐ŸŒฟ

Leave early, leave early! Kyoto's attractions close early in the afternoon. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒธ I originally planned to visit Okazaki Shrine and Nanzen-ji Temple, but there wasn't enough time. ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒบMany shops in Shijo Kawaramachi don't open until 11 a.m., so arriving too early means you won't have anything to do. Japanese restaurants do not allow eating takeout food inside. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒธ The No. 17 bus to Sanzen-in charges by the number of stops. ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒบ When you get off, swipe your Suica card and inform the driver which stop you got on at. The omamori (protective amulets) at Sanzen-in are pretty average; I wouldn't recommend buying them here. ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒธ When taking the bus from Sanzen-in to Ginkaku-ji, be careful not to go the wrong direction. Memorabilia shops selling omamori might close half an hour earlier than usual. ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒบThe Philosopher's Path goes through residential areas, so there are very few touristsโ€”it's a more in-depth experience. Japanese shopping malls close at 8 p.m., and you must claim your tax refund for the day before they close. ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒบMany Japanese restaurants require reservations and do not accept walk-ins. #Japan #KansaiTravel #KyotoTravel #Sanzen-in ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒŸ
