🏯 Kyoto Shrines
⛩️ Shimogamo Shrine (Picture 1) The black-feathered omamori (amulets) and the summer-limited hydrangea omamori at Shimogamo Shrine are incredibly delicate. If you see them, do pick one up! 🌟 The most representative activity at Shimogamo Shrine is the water fortune-telling. Dip the fortune-telling paper in the water of the temizuya (hand-washing basin), and the results will slowly appear on the paper. It’s really fun! 🌿 ⛩️ Kawachi Shrine (Picture 2) Kawachi Shrine enshrines the "most beautiful deity in Japan," Tamayorihime-no-Mikoto. 🌇🌿 This beauty-focused shrine is very popular among women. You can draw your own beauty on the "mirror ema" (votive tablet) to pray for beauty, purchase exquisite beauty omamori, and try the pear blossom beauty water. 🌸 ⛩️ Takaozanji Temple (Picture 3) Takaozanji Temple, Nishimyō-ji Temple, and Jingo-ji Temple. A hike around the mountains is very refreshing, with lots of greenery that’s easy on the eyes. 🌇🌿 From the moment the bus enters the mountains, the lush trees on both sides are just amazing! 🍃 ⛩️ Nara | Tōshōdai-ji Temple (Picture 4) When it comes to Tōshōdai-ji Temple, one person must be mentioned: the Tang Dynasty monk Jianzhen. 🌇🌿 After his sixth voyage to Japan, he lectured and spread Buddhism here. #Kyoto 🌇🌿
