Every sushi chef really does have their own style. Last time I came, I remember thinking the seasoning was on point — but this time, both my friend and I kept thinking: “Where’s the flavor?” 🍣 At first I wondered if my taste buds were off from drinking the night before… but honestly, when you’re not paying top-tier prices and the fish — while varied — isn’t exceptional, going the ultra-minimalist route can really backfire. The Wagyu and uni we added on felt a bit rushed — the beef was still chilly inside, though the uni was sweet and fresh as ever. 🌊✨ The additional crab mini-course was still delicious, and the temaki was solid. The abalone sashimi was crisp and fresh, but the monkfish liver fell short — missing that creamy mousse texture and depth, almost like bland jelly.
