LA’s Best Beef Tongue Rice Bowl
Since the pandemic, prices have kept climbing — thought $30 would hold for a while, but now it’s $32 per bowl. Hard to justify eating it often anymore unless I really crave it after a long break. 🌟 Every visit feels like splurging on a stressful meal. Going during peak hours ensures freshness, but it’s packed — finding a seat, ordering in line, waiting, then eating feels exhausting. 🌟 Santouka Ramen 🍜 — my sister loves it, but a set is now close to $30 too, and the broth remains very salty (need a drink from the supermarket afterward). 🌟 One silver lining — Hamada-ya bakery inside Mitsuwa still sells my favorite Coffee Jelly Milk for $3.75 (no crazy price hike!). A must-buy every Mitsuwa trip. 🌟 Still, this is LA’s best beef tongue rice bowl in my book. If you love beef tongue, it’s worth trying — truly unique. 📍 Mitsuwa Marketplace 665 Paularino Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 🌟 Roundup: Best & most unique = beef tongue rice bowl Santouka Ramen = saltier & pricier (only if you like very salty broth) Miyabi Tei next door = best value curry rice for $10 Sanuki Seimen Mugimaru udon = decent, but tempura batter is too thick 🍤 After finishing the tongue bowl, I often think — maybe BCD’s hot beef tripe tofu soup is better value… but occasionally, that beef tongue craving just wins. #LifeLog #DailyLife #LALife #BeefTongue #WhatToEatAlone #LunchToday #LunchVibes
