LA’s Desert Backyard 🌵🏜️|Living in Yucca Valley
Tonight the wind was strong and the clouds were thick A breathtaking curtain of gold-orange, magenta, and translucent blue filled the sky — absolutely stunning. 🌅✨ I’ve been observing the sky here every day, and the most magical time is between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. I always make sure to be outside during that window Each evening is uniquely different depending on the weather. ☁️💫 One reason I love LA is because of places like this. So quiet, sacred, and full of life’s energy — perfect for city dwellers to unplug and recharge. 🧘♀️🌌 Yucca Valley lies in California’s Mojave Desert, serving as a key gateway west of Joshua Tree National Park 🏞️ It blends desert landscapes, unique vegetation, and vast starry skies into one incredible experience. I’ve heard many artists, designers, and musicians from LA buy homes or build studios here. 🎨🎸 The houses are beautiful — thoughtfully designed, some even incorporating Chinese-inspired elements. Our host was super friendly and attentive, showing us around and explaining all the details of the property. It feels like a whole different world compared to the city. 🏡❤️ Outdoor bathtubs, fire pits surrounded by boulders — perfect for gathering and chatting under the stars. 🔥💬 Plenty of supermarkets nearby (like Walmart and Vons) 🛒, easy access to gas, and the grocery produce is so fresh it’s inspiring — we cooked all our meals here! 🍳🥗 With very little light pollution, Yucca Valley offers incredibly clear night skies — ideal for stargazing and photographing the Milky Way! 🌠📸 A perfect place to come alone to unwind, read, reflect, and just be. 📖💆♂️ #DesertSunriseSunset #YuccaValley #JoshuaTree #JoshuaTreeGuide #DesertLife #StarryNights #CaliforniaDesert #DigitalDetox #DesertArchitecture #TravelInspiration #UnplugAndRecharge
