LA|A Bowl-Style Spot Packed with Locals in Burbank

Burbank-area Chinese food lovers, rejoice! A friend recommended this bowl-style place — I thought, “What good Chinese food could there be in a mostly non-Asian area?” But wow, was I wrong — it’s really good! Bowls range from $3–8 each — you grab a tray, line up, and pick your dishes, feeling like you’re back in a college cafeteria (but portions are generous, no “shaky-hand” serving here!). Meat and veggie dishes are both tasty. For one person, one staple + two dishes is more than enough. They seem to feature Wagyu beef — both the braised pork rice and mapo tofu use Wagyu. The Wagyu & black pork braised rice is super fragrant — I even stole some from my friend’s bowl 😂 Mapo tofu is flavorful, stir-fried pork tastes authentic! Stir-fried beef is spicier — careful if you can’t handle heat (I loved it 🤣). Beef in the curry could be more tender, but flavor is great. Orange chicken and tomato & egg are on the sweeter side. Even the cabbage was fragrant — my veggie-averse friend raved about it! We ordered eight dishes between three people — no misses. 🌟 Highlight: The brussels sprouts absolutely blew my mind — oily, fragrant, with real wok hei. I might actually start liking brussels sprouts now — and I used to avoid them! You can see robots cooking live behind the counter. Busy spot — some dishes sell out and take 5–10 mins for the next batch. Self-bussing and packing — grab lids and bags yourself. No tip needed ✅ 🅿️ Street parking can be tricky — you can park at AMC or Ross. 📍 Tigawok 132 E Palm Ave, Burbank, CA 91502 #Tigawok #BurbankEats #BowlStyle #RoboCooking #LAChineseFood #LAFastCasual
