LA|Cozy Late-Night Izakaya Vibes 🍢🏮
This place is now my go-to happy spot! Make sure to reserve ahead—it’s tiny (seats only 9), so walk-ins rarely get in. Also, be patient—dishes come out slowly since the owner cooks everything solo. A full meal can easily take two hours, but it’s so worth it! ⏳😌 Their oden is famous for a reason—perfect for a cold night! We tried egg, konjac, daikon, tofu, bamboo shoots, fish balls, chikuwa, and seaweed—all delicious and comforting. 🍲❤️ For small plates: Wasabi Octopus was a surprise hit! Stingray Fin—chewy, savory, perfect with drinks. 🍶 Dashimaki Tamagoyaki soft and flavorful. Garlic Butter Abalone rich and great paired with veggies. Creamy Mushrooms in a rich, buttery sauce. Grilled Hokke (Atka mackerel)—lightly salted, crispy skin, tender inside. Squeeze lemon over it for perfection! 🐟✨ The beef sukiyaki was a bit too sweet for me, but the Mountain Yam Don (their #1 rice bowl) is a must-try! 🍚👍 Shoya 1920 Pacific Coast Hwy, Lomita, CA 90717 #LAEats #Izakaya #Oden #CozySpot #HiddenGem #LateNightBites
