LA|Los Angeles Omakase & Michelin-Starred Restaurant Reviews

Recently deactivated Instagram during exams 📵, and just realized my camera roll is filled with restaurant photos with nowhere to share them — so here’s a little review series on recent omakase and Michelin-starred spots I tried! 🍣✨ 🌟 Sushi Hide Highly recommended! Every dish was unique and full of character. The sushi is pre-seasoned by the chef — no extra soy sauce or wasabi needed. The overall flavor leans tangy, and even though I’m not big on sour notes, theirs were delicious! Best part? It’s newly opened and super affordable! 💸 My friend and I thought it’d be around $200 per person, but the total for two was just under $300! Turns out we booked same-day, so we got the regular omakase (not premium), but it was still amazing. Will definitely go back to try the premium set. Highly recommend the regular omakase here — great value! Their plum wine is also lovely 🥰🍶 🌟 Sushi Miyagi Also recommended — delicious and solid value! We tried the $150 premium omakase, but with service charge, tip, and drinks, it came to about $300 per person. The sushi was good but not outstanding — however, the first few sashimi courses were truly special and creative. Overall a great experience! Note: Premium omakase requires a phone reservation in advance 📞😋 ⚫ Q Sushi LA This used to have a Michelin star, but it felt pretty average to me — not the best value. The menu had typical omakase offerings, nothing memorable. With drinks, it came to almost $400 per person, and honestly, I barely remember what I ate. Didn’t even take photos of the sushi because nothing stood out 😐 Not really recommended — at that price, you could try Sushi Ginza instead (heard it's amazing, though I’ve never snagged a reservation 😅). Their plum wine was nice, though! 🤔 ⚫ Sushi Kame Omakase This one’s in Vegas, not LA, but since it’s omakase, I’ll include it here. While it was the best-tasting of the bunch, I still can’t recommend it — the premium omakase ran about $500 per person 💸😰 And honestly, the courses were identical to the regular omakase I had during the pandemic (which was only $350). Couldn’t tell the difference at all! If you do go, skip premium and opt for regular — though I think weekends only offer premium 😓 #LosAngeles #Omakase #MichelinStar #LAFoodReview #SushiLovers #FoodieDiary #EatLA 🍱
