🍣 LA|Michelin-Starred Shunji 🌟 Solo Dining Experience 🍚
Getting a reservation for one was pretty easy – just booked a few days ahead! A friend strongly recommended this place, so I snagged a seat to try it out. Oddly, there were no tables for two available, but booking two single seats was possible… not sure how that works 🤷♀️ Overall, the appetizers and small dishes were delicious – every one was a hit! The sushi was solid – nicely packed, not falling apart – though flavor-wise, it was good but not mind-blowing. Service was great, portions were generous, and I left super full! I opted for the tea pairing – think it was three or four cups, mostly hot tea, with one cold option. Personally, the cold tea was the best! 🍵❄️ Also added their signature dish: Tomato Tofu 🍅✨ It was surprisingly amazing – my first time trying something like this. Described as “tastes like tofu but made from tomatoes,” using 2–3 tomatoes per dish. Thought it was a new item, but my friend said they’ve had it for six years… still going strong! 😂 As someone who loves both tomatoes and tofu, I really enjoyed this – definitely recommend adding it! With all that, the total came to $400+ per person. Have you been to Shunji? What’s your favorite Michelin-starred spot in LA for solo dining?
