It’s that time of the year again—DineLA is back! I’ve bookmarked a few spots to try this year 🍴 Last year had some hits and misses, so I’m cautiously optimistic about new picks. This hand roll spot in Torrance is fairly new—cozy space with a corner bar and just a few tables, but clean and welcoming 👌 The DineLA menu offers four courses: The first course is my favorite—uni (sea urchin) with mountain yam and ikura shoot! 🥢 They use Santa Barbara uni, and they give you four thick, generous slices 🍱 So creamy and fresh! One sip and you’re in a sticky, savory kingdom—ikura popping, uni dancing in your mouth 🕺 So satisfying! Second course: five premium hand rolls 🍣 Salmon + Lao Gan Ma chili, toro, ikura + scallop, unagi + egg, and crab legs 🦀 Each is from their premium lineup (usually $8–15+ per roll). Getting to try all five in one go? So worth it! Every roll is packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Third course: dry-style chashu ramen 🍜 Perfect for summer—light and refreshing! If it were a hot soup, I might not have finished it in this heat. The noodles are tossed in a tangy-spicy sauce, and the chashu is flavorful. But honestly, the portion is huge—I couldn’t finish it! 😅 Dessert: vanilla ice cream 🍦 + warabi mochi The vanilla ice cream is loaded with real vanilla seeds—so aromatic! 🤣 The warabi mochi comes with brown sugar and soybean powder—chewy and sweet, maybe a tad too sweet for some, but yummy 😋 Overall, for $65 per person, this experience tops many trendy hand roll spots! It’s one of the few DineLA meals that made me want to return regularly. Their everyday lunch deal is also solid: 5 hand rolls for $26—great value! I love the freshness and seasoning here.
