LA|Pasjoli|Let’s Talk Scallop Mousse, Not Duck Liver Toast 🍽️✨
As a French à la carte restaurant, Pasjoli impressed with its well-paced service — very satisfying! The kitchen seemed consistently busy but efficient — no dragging or delays. The restaurant pays great attention to detail: My friend and I ordered a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Franc, and they were served in different glasses — the white wine glass was even slightly chilled, perfect for the cooled wine! 🍷❄️ The duck liver toast is a signature dish and definitely satisfies Californians missing out on foie gras. Not sure what got into us, but we each devoured two slices… ended up way too full later! 😂 The scallop mousse was intriguing — ordered it out of curiosity, wondering what it would be. Turned out to be a mousse made from puréed scallops! Basically, a scallop-flavored jelly with surprisingly delicate seasoning. You can tell the kitchen puts real thought into their dishes — not just piling ingredients together. The “Three Ways Duck” is another highlight — the French really know how to cook duck! 🦆 The meat was tender and not gamey, preserving the duck flavor without any off-notes — impressive! The sauce was made from duck trimmings, and the duck pudding was confusing at first but became the best bite of the night. The shredded duck with plum had an almost preserved vegetable texture — pretty magical! ✨ A great spot for dates — Pasjoli’s reputation is well-deserved. Have you been here?
