LA|Santa Monica's Hidden French Spot?

🏠 Muse 📍 108 W Channel Rd, Santa Monica, CA 90402 The restaurant is stunning—Art Deco decor with perfectly moody lighting, not too bright or dark. Service was super warm (almost too warm for this introvert 😅). First course: 🦪 Mussel dressed in sesame with pear (daily special) — A light cold dish. One mussel slightly undercooked, but the crisp pear kept it refreshing. 🍞 Brioche — MUST ORDER. Crisp outside, pillowy inside, incredible with butter. Couldn’t stop nibbling. 🌿 Sunchokes with Shaved Castelfranco — Eat the sunchokes and radicchio together; radicchio alone is way too salty. Second course: 🍚 Risotto — First version was extremely salty. We sent it back, and the remake was much better—creamy, well-seasoned, great texture. 🥔 Pomme Pavé with Citrus Hollandaise — MVP of the night! Crispy layered potatoes with a bright, tangy hollandaise. Desserts (went all-in, skipped third course): 🍫 Chocolate Tart — Rich, deep chocolate, not overly sweet. Favorite! 🍋 Lemon Tart — Perfectly balanced sweet-tart, refreshing after the mains. 🍮 Vanilla St. Honoré — Cream puff + vanilla cream + caramel. Pretty and pleasant. ☕ Tiramisu — A bit dense and sweet, least exciting of the bunch. Notes: ⚠️ Reservations essential—tiny space, limited seats. 🅿️ Valet available. 🎂 For birthdays, they gave a sweet card + rose-flavored macarons! #LA #LALife #LADiscovery #LAEats#LAFrench #AmbienceDining #LAWeekend #FoodVibes
