LA|SORA Craft Kitchen|Hello Mediterranean Cuisine! 📸
Switching things up today—no Japanese food this time! 😄 Tried a super unique Mediterranean spot called SORA Craft Kitchen. The chef, Inak, is an incredibly kind and passionate person! 👨🍳❤️ He previously worked at Per Se and Eleven Madison Park—what an impressive background! SORA is also a unique lone-chef restaurant. He runs the whole place by himself: taking orders, cooking, serving, all with the help of a self-service kiosk. It’s like fine dining with a fast-food vibe—so cool and casual! 🍽️✨ As soon as you walk in, Chef Inak greets you with a big smile! We ordered at the kiosk, found our own seats, and the delicious journey began 🥳 Appetizers: We had the fascinating fried eggplant 🍆 and İçli Köfte (the stuffed pastry in the first photo). That köfte was absolutely mind-blowing! 😵💫 Creamy yogurt sauce + chewy dough + savory meat filling = an explosion of textures! The yogurt sauce cut through the richness perfectly—not heavy at all, just incredibly moreish. One bite and you’ll want another! Mains: We ordered the kebab and grilled branzino. Gotta give a special shout-out to the kebab—so fragrant! 🍢 Charcoal-grilled meat with tomato and onion, wrapped in warm bread—juicy and bursting with flavor! The only tiny note: the bread was a bit dry, but imagine if it was grilled with meat juices…perfection! 😍 The grilled sea bass was full of smoky aroma, served with arugula grown by the chef himself—so fresh and delicious! 🌿 Dessert: The showstopper—cheese halva with yuzu-black sesame ice cream! 🍧 The cheese halva underneath had a texture like cornbread, but cake-like and warm… Paired with icy black sesame ice cream—a perfect contrast of hot and cold! The yuzu added a refreshing sweetness, with layers of flavor that harmonized beautifully. An unforgettable finish! 👅💥 This place kept surprising me dish after dish—a true "small restaurant" with big heart! And the price? Unbelievably affordable—only around $50 per person! I’d come back every day if I could! 🏃♀️💨 Have you been to SORA? What’s your favorite Mediterranean dish in LA?
