A friend was visiting LA and staying near Irvine, so I immediately suggested AnQi — an Asian-inspired fine dining spot I hadn’t been to in ages. And I’m happy to report: it’s still so, so good! 😋👏 Though I will say — for a restaurant at this price point, the plating wasn’t as polished as I remembered. Sauces were a bit… enthusiastically drizzled 😅, maybe because they were extra busy? But the flavors made up for it! Must-orders that never disappoint: Garlic noodles 🍜 — usually with shrimp, but this time we got them with crab (market price). Savory, garlicky, irresistible. The server even asked if we wanted chili sauce — a fun touch! 🌶️ Lobster dumplings & tuna tacos 🥟🌮 — timeless, flavorful, exactly as delicious as I remembered. AnQi remains that reliable special-occasion spot where the food always delivers, even if the presentation is a little more relaxed now.
