LA / Tried the Mysterious Izakaya 🏮 Kinjiro
Finally checked off Kinjiro—a pretty famous spot in LA, but booking is... a bit of a process 😅 You have to email them with your preferred date and group size, then wait to see if they confirm. Actually not too hard to get a reservation though—just ask 1–2 weeks ahead for weekend seats 👌 Highly recommend! Whether you love raw fish or prefer cooked dishes, there’s something for everyone. Definitely a safe and satisfying choice for Japanese food in LA! The flavors are truly impressive—fresh ingredients and delicious mains, though some dishes are on the richer side (can be a bit heavy after a while, but still worth it!). We ordered the most popular items: 🦪 Oysters – Plump and fresh, a must for oyster lovers! 🦀️ Crab Bowl – Added sea urchin, scallop, and fish roe. Highly recommend! Even someone who usually avoids raw food found it delicious and not fishy at all! 🍖 Thick-Cut Beef Tongue & Duck Breast – The tongue was amazing 😋, and the duck was very Chinese-palate-friendly—made me wish I had some sweet bean sauce to go with it, haha! 🍚 Uni Risotto – Super cute presentation, probably mixed with crab meat? The uni flavor was sweet and rich~ Best shared between two people to avoid feeling overwhelmed. 🥘 Sukiyakiton – As a sukiyaki lover, I really enjoyed this one 🥰 Heard their desserts are great too—black sesame and matcha options—but we were too full this time. Next visit! 🍵 📍 424 E 2nd St, Los Angeles, CA 90012 🅿️ Easy parking / Around $150 per person #LifeInLA #LAEats #JapaneseIzakaya #JapaneseFood #HiddenGem #FoodDiary #LAFoodGuide #LAWeekend #FoodExploration #LA #MustTry #UmiEats
