LA | Authentic Yakitori Spot — Mentaiko Tamago & More! 🍢
Randomly discovered this newly opened yakitori place on the map—and it’s a winner! Authentic skewers grilled by Japanese chefs right before your eyes. 🍢 Chicken Meatball / Chicken Oyster / Bacon-Wrapped Mochi All must-orders! Chicken Meatball: Served with a raw egg yolk for dipping—smoky, savory, and extra creamy. Chicken Oyster: A tender, juicy part of the thigh—so flavorful! Bacon-Wrapped Mochi: Chewy, savory, and irresistibly delicious. 🧈 Mentaiko Tamagoyaki & Tonkotsu Ramen Mentaiko Tamagoyaki: The egg roll was fluffy and stuffed with fresh mentaiko (spicy cod roe)—salty, savory, and utterly satisfying. Tonkotsu Ramen: Only $10 a bowl! The broth was rich and deeply flavorful. 🐟 Grilled Unagi / Shiso Chicken / Chicken Hearts Unagi: Perfectly grilled with crispy skin and springy flesh. Shiso Chicken: Fragrant shiso leaves paired beautifully with the grilled chicken. Chicken Hearts: Tender and well-seasoned, though may not be for everyone. Skip These: Duck: A bit overcooked and tough. Chicken Cartilage: Too large and hard to chew. We over-ordered thinking the skewers would be small—but portions are generous! A rare find in West LA with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs grill. I’ll definitely be back! 👩💻 By day, I’m a data scientist in tech; by night, a foodie sharing hidden gems across LA and the Bay.
