Just tried my second Dine LA spot this year—and it totally blew me away! This intimate Spanish tapas bar in Santa Monica served up a set menu so generous I’ve never left a tapas meal this full. The vibe was perfect for a Friday unwind: dim lighting, hushed conversations, and a warm, inviting atmosphere 🥃 🦐 Gambas al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) A classic done right! The shrimp were plump and springy, swimming in fragrant garlic oil. We dipped crusty grilled baguette into that glorious oil—each bite was pure satisfaction 😌 🥩 Jamón Ibérico with Tomato Bread We added this beyond the set menu, and oh—was it worth it! The Ibérico ham was thinly sliced but rich and complex, with a deep, smoky flavor that lingered. Paired with juicy tomato-rubbed bread, it was a match made in heaven. 🐚 Scallops with Saffron Butter A unique and intriguing dish! The saffron was subtle, letting the brown butter shine, though the scallops were slightly overcooked. Still, a creative and enjoyable bite. 🐙 Octopus with Potato & Paprika Smoky paprika (not spicy!) coated tender octopus over creamy, flavorful mashed potatoes. A small bite with a glass of red wine? Perfection. We also enjoyed: Deviled eggs with crab Marinated olives with anchovies Grilled fish collar A refreshing arugula salad …and not a single miss! Even the desserts impressed—especially the molecular gin fizz, a drinkable meringue cocktail that ended the night on a fun note. Though Dine LA may be over, most dishes are available à la carte.
