Honestly, my knowledge of Guizhou food mostly comes from recent online trends — and trendy LA is right on time keeping up. I’d always heard that Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan cuisines were similar, but the spicy profiles here are actually quite distinct! This meal had a subtle touch of sweetness that felt new and exciting — so many unfamiliar yet incredibly delicious dishes. 🌶️🍚 The sour soup with bullfrog is a must-order (every table had it!). Ours came in a simple bowl since our table was packed, but other tables were served in these gorgeous, fancy pots that totally matched the restaurant’s chic vibe.
