LA | Maison Kanatha – A Beautiful Omakase-Style Experience ✨🍽️
A $220 set menu that leaves you absolutely stuffed—definitely worth trying (before the price goes up!). This is a creative fusion of Japanese, French, and Thai flavors. Each dish stands out on its own—delicious and beautifully plated—though the connection between courses felt a bit loose. Still, a truly beautiful meal! 🌸 🦐 First Course: Fried Shrimp Cake – Juicy, peppery, with a spicy kick and tangy plum sauce that cuts through the richness. 🤍 Second Course: Signature Ankimo & Caviar – Great texture, but the white sesame mousse overpowered the monkfish liver and caviar. Pretty but not what I expected. 🐟 Grilled Fish – Tender but had a funky, fermented note (almost like stinky tofu)—interesting but not my favorite. 🍅 Tomato & Cheese – Refreshing and light, with a crispy sweet layer. Yum! 🌯 Spring Roll with Fish – Clean, mild, and not fishy at all. 🦐 Thai-Style Raw Shrimp – Tender shrimp in a classic ceviche-style sauce, though a slight bitter note lingered even with extra spice. 🍔 Tuna Burger – So good! Fatty tuna that wasn’t greasy, layered with apple slices for balance. Perfection! 🦀 Masala Crab – Stuffed with crab meat, rice, and sauce—we all took one bite and gasped. Unbelievably tasty and unique! 🍤 Tempura-style Grilled Fish – Delicious! Lightly fried with nori for extra umami. 🍳 Chawanmushi with Spinach & Chicken + French Onion Broth – A surprisingly harmonious blend. 🥩 Wagyu Steak – Three huge slices! At this point, I was too full to fully appreciate it 😅. 🍜 Final Noodle Course – We asked for fewer noodles. The broth was light and fragrant, the fish tender and flavorful—best fish of the night! #LifeAbroad #FoodTreasures #FineDining #JapaneseFrenchFusion #CreativeCuisine
