LA | Masamitsu | A Sushi Lover’s Budget-Friendly Gem

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Masamitsu is the value king of omakase 👑✨ At just $150 per person, this set menu delivers without a doubt— though I admit, I was enjoying the drinks a little too much to remember taking photos 😅🍶 Luckily, I managed a quick snap when the nigiri course arrived! 📸 Chef Ken knows my palate well by now— he made sure to include shrimp in my course, and wow, the live shrimp with salmon roe was a textural explosion 🦐🍣 Even the usually challenging silver-skinned fish was presented in a way that felt approachable and delicious. We paired the meal with Dassai sake—always reliable— and also tried Sato upon recommendation from Shunji regulars. Personally, I found the Sato a bit too dry for my taste 🍶😅 It felt like being a Cabernet drinker trying to appreciate Burgundy—I’ll admit my palate still has room to grow! Sharing a meal with good friends always adds an extra layer of joy to the experience 👭❤️ And as a little bonus, the birthday girl at the next table even shared a slice of her cake with us—what a sweet, unexpected moment of connection 🎂💖 From expertly crafted courses to warm, personal service, Masamitsu continues to be a go-to for quality, value, and genuine hospitality 🍱💫 #Foodie #Omakase #LAEats #SushiLover #BudgetFriendly #JapaneseCuisine #GoodTimes #FoodAndFriends #HiddenGem #CheersToThat
