LA | Masuyoshi | The “Ask and You Shall Receive” Bonus Night ✨

Tonight totally proved the rule: ask first — if they say no, so be it. Being a new spot, the price point matches what you’d expect, but the chef’s sincerity stands out! A little tough love though — knife skills could use some polish… But overall, we all agreed: the food was delicious! Seasoning was well-balanced, perfect with sake. He works solo — no sous chef — yet the pacing felt smooth, never slow. Tempura fried to order, timing flawless. You can feel the care. 🐟 Chef’s special fish was incredible, but we boldly asked… “Any scallops?” And he made us a double special on the spot 🥹 Near the end, we asked about futomaki — he literally counted with his fingers and crafted a deluxe version for us! 😂 Complete with gold flakes. You could also add single pieces of fish à la carte — prices were very fair. The fruit was so good we praised it… and he pulled out an orange to slice us more. You can tell the chef is hustling — he eagerly poses every dish for photos, probably hoping to grow the biz. And he genuinely fulfilled our “unreasonable” requests. Currently no sake served in-house, so no corkage fee 🍶 Final all-in bill: $235 — shocking value! #LifeAbroad #PrettyPlates #LAFoodGuide #JapaneseCuisine #Omakase #NightOutVibes #LAEats
