LA | OmGino | Why Didn’t I Lead with the Truffle Uni Pasta Pic?

Because almost every other dish was impressively generous too! 😍 The king crab was stunning 🦀—in season, sweet and delicious! As someone who usually avoids silver-skinned fish, tonight was a total delight— every bite was clean, with zero bloody or sour aftertaste! 🎉 Oddly, Gino isn’t traditional Japanese—the chef is actually Korean 🇰🇷. The flavor progression wasn’t gradual, which felt unusual. I was even surprised the truffle uni pasta came before the sushi 🍝➡️🍣 Luckily, a cherry tomato palate cleanser arrived midway (though still pretty bold in flavor!). The chawanmushi was a standout—made with rich lobster-seafood broth 🍲 (It reminded me of Lei Garden~ nostalgic vibes! 💭) Overall, a solid experience! If you’re going for something unique, it’s worth a try— but if you’re a regular at omakase counters, you might feel differently. Personally, I’d rank it below some other LA spots in the same price range. Still, it feels lavish—tuna, uni, crab, truffle all make appearances 🍣✨ A fun and visually satisfying meal nonetheless! #LAEats #LAFood #Omakase #UniPasta #TruffleLover #JapaneseFusion #CreativeDining
