LA | Orsa & Winston | A Restaurant Named After Dogs! ๐ถ
Personally, for this price in LA โ you really eat well. As we were leaving, I noticed portraits of two dogs on the wall, so I bravely askedโฆ Turns out the restaurant is indeed named after two little pups. How adorable is that?! ๐ณ Steamed egg was warm (not hot) but unique in flavor โ topped with crispy caviar-like bits (later found out at Udatsu it's "filled caviar"). ๐ Kanpachi with pink blueberries โ so good, sweet and crunchy! Black sesame on the fish added fragrance without the greasiness of sesame oil. ๐ฒ Herb clam soup with Japanese squid โ the squid was fried before going into the soup, but way too salty ๐ฌ ๐ฅ Fried fish salad with unfamiliar greens and yuzu dressing โ interesting, but the cheese overpowered everything. ๐ฅ Lobster dumplings โ sweet yet not cloying, wrapper just right. ๐ Next fish course โ salted fish that tasted like childhood home-cooked mackerie! Proof again: French and Cantonese flavors connect. With greens, not too salty โ delicious. ๐ฒ Seafood rice porridge โ MUST ADD! Uni, lobster, scallop, abalone, red prawn, caviarโฆ a luxurious combo. ๐ Olive fish โ great texture! The bread was perfect for soaking up sauce, and the roasted fig was even better than the fish โ who knew roasted figs could be this good?! A very pleasant Friday night indeed โจ #LifeAbroad #LAEats #MyFoodTreasures #StudentFoodie #JapaneseFrenchFusion #Foodie
