LA | Perle | My Hidden French Gem 🌟
Last-minute plans with my sis for a Christmas Eve dinner led us on a hunt for a restaurant. All the places we wanted to try were fully booked! After some deliberation, we decided to check out our hidden gem—Perle! And just as expected, it never disappoints! They had a table ready for us! 🎉 Perle is a family-owned restaurant that has been a staple in Pasadena for years. Usually, we order à la carte, but this time, we went for the set menu. I was a bit nervous that the set might not live up to their usual standards, but boy, was I wrong! It was even better than our regular visits! ❤️ The usual dishes like chicken liver pâté, white truffle pasta, and pan-seared steak were as amazing as ever. The soup, which I thought would be onion soup, turned out to be a pumpkin-like soup with crispy bread and pumpkin seeds—so rich in texture! The seared scallops were perfect, with a slightly undercooked center and a sauce that made me lick the plate—it had a hint of caramelized flavor. 🫧 The final main course was a showstopper: besides the pan-seared steak, there was also beef bourguignon—a classic French dish that takes days to perfect. During dinner, my sister and I talked about how some people don't enjoy Perle. We couldn't understand it! Of course, everyone's taste is different, but I truly respect a family-owned restaurant that stays true to its roots and maintains its dedication to quality. I hope the owners keep it going for many more years so I can keep enjoying their food! ❤️ #fyp #LosAngelesFoodieGuide #OverseasLife #BeautifulMeals #FrenchCuisine #DiningInStyle #HiddenGems #RepeatVisits #MyFoodTreasures #CaliforniaLiving
