LA | Second Visit to Sushi Sonagi 🍣

Brought another friend for my second visit here. Right after we sat down, the server asked if I still avoided green onions – I was so touched! They remembered my allergy from 8 months ago πŸ₯Ή. Then when ordering sake, they mentioned the one I had last time was still available and asked if I wanted it again – such attention to detail! No wonder this is my favorite sushi spot πŸ’–. The food was just as consistent as before – a nice balance of raw and cooked dishes, which I really enjoy. This time we tried the summer menu (attached at the end). Compared to the winter menu last time, not too many changes – just crab rice swapped for shrimp rice. For the sushi part, the chef mentioned they had a special seasonal sanma (Pacific saury) available only for about two weeks – also his personal favorite. Lucky us! πŸ˜„ My friend thought the sushi rice was a bit on the tangy side, but I didn’t mind since I prefer it slightly more acidic.πŸ‘πŸ˜Š As always, the service was excellent. At the end, they gave us a handwritten thank-you card with a cute little cloud drawing ☁️ – so sweet! Will definitely be back. #Foodie #Omakase #JapaneseCuisine #LosAngeles #CounterDining #LAEats #EatingDiary
