LA | Super Authentic Japanese Yakitori Spot · Mentaiko Tamagoyaki 🍢
Randomly found this newly opened yakitori place on the map—and it’s delicious!! Truly authentic skewers, grilled by Japanese chefs right before your eyes 👨🍳🔥 🍢 Chicken Meatballs / Chicken Oyster / Bacon-Wrapped Mochi Must-orders! The chicken meatballs come with a raw egg dip—charred on the outside, creamy and tender inside. Super hearty and filling! Chicken Oyster is an extra juicy thigh cut—so flavorful. Bacon-wrapped mochi is chewy and satisfying. 🧈 Mentaiko Tamagoyaki / Tonkotsu Ramen The last time I had such a fragrant tamagoyaki was at Take31 in NYC! Add fresh mentaiko—salty, savory, and umami-rich. The ramen is around $10 a bowl, and the broth is incredibly rich and savory. 🐟 Grilled Unagi (Shirayaki) / Shiso Chicken / Chicken Heart The unagi is a standout—crispy skin, tender and bouncy meat. Shiso chicken is fragrant and refreshing. Chicken heart is tender, though might be an acquired taste for some. 🦆 Duck was a bit overcooked, and the cartilage was too large and hard to chew—only two misses in an otherwise fantastic meal! Portions are generous, so order wisely—we over-ordered and ended up stuffed 😅 Thrilled to find such a solid yakitori spot in West LA, with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs grill! Definitely coming back for round two. 😺 By day: Data scientist at a tech company 🧱 📸 By night: Long-time LA local sharing hidden food gems in LA & the Bay Area Follow along for more authentic finds! #LALife #LAEatsAndFun #LAFood #LosAngelesEats #LAExplorer #LARestaurants #LAYakitori
