LA | Sushi Enya 🍣 – Is It Really Worth Trying?!
Finally tried the much-debated Sushi Enya! 🎌 I visited their Little Tokyo location – the first Sushi Enya in LA. Surprisingly, I walked in on a Sunday evening without any wait! 🧐 Didn’t go for their omakase ($200 per person), but chose to sit at the bar and order à la carte instead. There were five chefs working together to serve both bar and table orders, and they seemed a bit overwhelmed—even though the place never filled up completely during my meal. 💧 Ambience Very traditional Japanese-style decor, but the bar seats are quite close to the tables behind, making it feel a bit noisy and cramped. 🏮 ✅ Pros They offer a daily Chef's Recommendations menu that changes every day! Every fish on this list is excellent ✨ Each piece feels like omakase—already seasoned by the chef, so no extra soy sauce or wasabi needed. 📌 You can also order just one piece of anything (instead of a pair), which is great if you want to try more variety or have a smaller appetite! 😋 Their signature hand roll is truly delicious – the black truffle topping is absolutely amazing! It feels like the truffle is lightly salted, making it extra fragrant and impressive. Though it’s not cheap… $35 for one 😣 ❎ Cons Aside from the daily recommendations, most other à la carte items were disappointing. The salmon and salmon belly were similar to grocery-store quality 💢 But the ootoro was on point! ✏️ Verdict If you prefer the pure taste of sushi itself, I’d recommend the bar at Sushi Gen instead! ‼️ Prices are similar, but the quality really outshines Enya. However, if you don’t like waiting or prefer pre-seasoned sushi curated by the chef, then come for Enya’s daily recommendations – they really do taste great! 🍣 Sushi Enya 💰 Around $115 per person + tip (without drinks) 📍 343 1st St, Los Angeles, CA 90012 #LosAngeles #LittleTokyoLA #LAJapaneseFood #LASushi #DTLAEats #LAFoodie #SoloDining
