LA | Yasu Omakase | Good… But Not Exactly Thrilling 🍣🤷♀️
After hitting the Dior pop-up, my friend and I came here for omakase. Honestly? I was a little disappointed at first — especially with the early courses. For $195 per person, I expected more… sincerity in the fish selection. The initial sashimi felt underwhelming, almost forgettable. 😕 But strangely, as the meal went on, things got better. Way better. It was a classic case of “slow start, strong finish” — though I can’t even pinpoint which course turned things around. By the end, we were genuinely satisfied and comfortably full. ✅🍱 For the price in today’s market, it’s decent value. The setting is intimate and date-friendly, and it could be a nice intro to omakase for beginners. 🥂✨ However, if you’re a seasoned sushi enthusiast with higher expectations for premium cuts and intricate prep, you might leave wanting more. So — not a bad experience, just not a memorable one. Maybe next time I’ll stick to places that wow from the first bite. 🎌💭 #YasuOmakase #LAOmakase #SushiReview #HitOrMiss #SlowStartStrongFinish #DateNightSpot #GoodForBeginners #PriceyButFilling #NotTheBestNotTheWorst #SushiRegularsMaybeSkip #ModestExperience #FineForTheOccasion #LAEats #EatAndEvaluate #KeepExploring #FoodieThoughts #OmakaseJourney #MixedFeelings #DineAndDecide #CaliSushiScene
