LA County Arboretum: Come See the Peacocks! 🦚🌿

✨ Travel Tip Master has been posting too much off-topic content lately—time to return to the main theme! Spent the weekend exploring the massive LA County Arboretum. Adult tickets are $15, student tickets $12 (bring your student ID!). You can buy tickets online or on-site—same price. Parking is plentiful and right by the entrance. Oh, and the peacocks? They’re locals! 🦚 Right at the entrance, you’ll spot peacocks casually strutting around, some even showing off their feathers for photos! The female peacocks (peahens) are adorable too—brown, short-tailed, and totally unafraid of humans. Check out the map in Pic 3—this place is HUGE! You could easily spend half a day wandering through every section (we didn’t even finish). Pro tip: The only café/water station is near the entrance, so bring your own water (though there are scattered water fountains). 🗺️ Recommended Route: 1️⃣ Start at the entrance, then explore Australia & Africa (right side). 2️⃣ Head to the Historic Circle—don’t miss the Queen Anne Cottage (a cute candy cane-striped red-and-white house on the lake) and the Rose Garden (perfect for photos—saw a couple shooting what might’ve been wedding pics?). 3️⃣ Loop north to Tallac Knoll & Meadowbrook. 4️⃣ Exit via the Bauer Fountain near the entrance. 🛍️ Gift Shop Alert! The entrance has dried flowers, plants, and adorable little souvenirs. Most paths are paved (great for seniors/strollers), though some side trails are unpaved (skip if needed). Only a few stairs (mostly near Mountain Vista—view’s just okay, but the nearby waterfall is lovely, with turtles sunbathing!). Also loved the Garden of Quiet Reflection, filled with Asian plants and even a carved Wang Wei poem—so many spots to pause, relax, and enjoy the shade. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for families, kids, and elderly folks alike! You won’t cover everything in one trip—totally worth a second visit. The plants here are wildly diverse and fascinating! 📍 Spot Info #LA #LifeInLosAngeles #ThingsToDoInLA #LosAngeles
