LA Food|n/soto Izakaya 🏮 The #1 Beef Tongue Spot 🐂
It’s a vibe-filled Japanese izakaya — you’d be missing out not trying it! Perfect for dates, catching up with friends, or even business chats. Every dish is beautifully crafted and delicious, plus their black sesame cocktail is a showstopper 🍸 【Recommended Dishes】 🐄 Gyutan - Beef Tongue Highly recommend! Thick-cut beef tongue — super impressive! Tender, bouncy, juicy the moment you bite into it. We ordered seconds right away! The slightly sweet teriyaki-like glaze pairs perfectly with the rich beef fat. 🦀 Blue Crab Handroll Fragrant, fragrant, fragrant — a must-order! Who doesn’t love picked crab meat? Soft, warm rice piled high with crab, wrapped in crisp roasted seaweed — pure indulgence. 🥢 Warm House-Made Tofu Served warm, incredibly silky. Half tofu, half soy milk in the bowl, topped with soy sauce and scallions — simple yet heartwarming. Great as a starter. Tastes a bit like savory douhua! ⚠️ The dipping sauce on the side might be unnecessary — there’s already sauce underneath. Mix first, taste, then add more if needed. I didn’t realize and added a third of the sauce — ended up way too salty! 🐔 Negima & 🍡 Tsukune Chicken-scallion skewers and chicken meatballs. Can’t go wrong with these — tender meat, though the glaze was a bit salty. The chicken and scallion balance well, full of charcoal aroma and juicy goodness! The meatball brought back memories — like the nori-wrapped chicken skewers from winter oden — simple, nostalgic flavors. 【Drink Highlight】 🐋 Shinigami Cocktail (Black Sesame) The biggest surprise of my visit! Base: pale rum, sesame shochu, black sesame syrup make it rich and aromatic, balanced by pineapple and lemon. Every sip is packed with sesame fragrance — so addictive! Loved the silly little whale cup too, couldn’t stop taking photos 😄 They also have chazuke (tea rice) — only one flavor: ume shiso — fans of this combo should go for it! 📍 4566 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016 🚗 Valet $12 — street parking available but limited. #VibeDining #CozyBar #LAEats #LAJapaneseFood #LAFoodFinds #Izakaya #LAExplored 🏮
