LA Food Diary • Umi AYCE Lobster, Crab Legs

A Bay Area visitor checking out the popular Umi AYCE! Happened to visit on a weekend lobster day—$39.99 per person! So many options: lobster, crab legs, abalone, oysters, lamb shank, filet mignon, frog legs, Buddha Jumps Over the Wall stew, hot pot, sushi, sashimi… totally overwhelming! Not sure how this place ranks in LA, but for this variety and price, you definitely couldn’t find it in the Bay Area! 😮 Just sharing my personal experience—I didn’t try everything. For example, I skipped all raw fish and focused on cooked dishes. I also didn’t get to the hot pot, sushi, or ramen because I was full before I could try them all! So, here’s what I did try: 🦞 Lobster — Not self-serve; you have to ask at the ramen window. One per person per trip. Pretty big, but the meat was a bit tough. 🦀 Crab Legs — Better than the lobster! Sweet and fresh. My kid devoured three plates—definitely got our money’s worth! 🍲 Buddha Jumps Over the Wall — Abalone stewed with chicken feet and pork trotters. Couldn’t tell if it’s “authentic” or not, but it tasted good! 🐖 Honey-Glazed Pork Belly — Surprisingly delicious! The whole family loved it, especially the leaner parts—sweet and fragrant! 🐟 Steamed Fish with Black Bean Sauce — Looked like cod, huge portion, tender and fresh. 🐚 Abalone with Glass Noodles — Tender, juicy little abalone, perfect one-bite size! 🍡 Red Bean Sticky Rice Dumplings — Hidden at the dim sum station—chewy, sweet, and lovely! 🍍 Pineapple Sticky Rice — Looked like Thai pineapple fried rice, but it’s sweet—loved it! Overall, I thought it was pretty decent! The staff were working hard that day, clearing plates promptly. 📝 Online reviews are mixed—some love it, some hate it. As a Bay Area visitor, I’ll stay neutral. The 4.8-star rating might be a bit inflated, but I’d give it a solid 4 stars! Final bill after tax + 12% service fee for four people: $196.63. 🚩 Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet 18061 Gale Ave, City of Industry, CA 91748 #LADining #LAFood #LAAllYouCanEat #LAExploration #LAFoodie #LosAngelesEats #FoodReview
