Q Sushi Omakase – $400 per person 🍣 A traditional Edomae-style sushi experience with very fresh ingredients. The appetizers were delicious, and the chef’s seasoning style felt unique compared to other omakase spots. The only odd pairing was bluefin tuna with something like peanut butter 😅. The nigiri portion featured more white fish, and the vinegar rice was quite sour—not totally my taste. Overall, not the best value—I feel Little Tokyo offers more affordable options. Ootoro Japanese Restaurant – $150 per person ⭐️ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This place was such a pleasant surprise! After Q Sushi, I wasn’t expecting much from LA's Japanese food scene—but Ootoro totally wowed me. I even went back two days in a row! Weekends usually require reservations, but you can try sitting outside. Weekdays are easier to walk in. Every sushi order was a hit—super fresh ingredients (though a few pieces had loosely packed rice). Must-tries: Hamachi three ways, Otoro three ways, Uni three ways, Uni pasta, steamed abalone, and sweet shrimp (heads can be made into soup!). Great value for the quality! Moonshadows Malibu 🌊 Came here mainly for the stunning ocean view—highly recommend visiting at sunset! Food was decent and reliable—lobster pasta is a good choice 🍝. Jae Bu Do ⭐️ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – ~$60 per person A Korean-style grilled seafood spot in Ktown. Went around 5 PM and didn’t wait. They offer four combo options—Combo 2 is more than enough for two people. The grilled seafood is unseasoned, so you truly taste the freshness—the shellfish were especially sweet. The combo also includes a tasty sashimi salad. The highlight: knife-cut noodles cooked in clam broth at the end—absolutely amazing! Cha Redefine ⭐️⭐⭐ MUST-TRY! This bubble tea shop has two locations—one in Downtown and one in Pasadena. Their "chappuccino" series is fantastic! Recommended: Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea and Peach Oolong Milk Tea—refreshing and not too sweet 🍑🌼. #LAFoodExplorer #LAEats #LosAngeles #LAJapaneseFood #LABubbleTea #HiddenGems
