LA Food Guide β Japanese Edition π£
π€ Yazawa Our favorite Japanese yakiniku in LA! More variety than Ima and less heavy β I get easily overwhelmed by richness, but this spot hits just right. First-timers can try the $160 omakase, but if budget allows, go for the $180 tier. The sake cups are gorgeous, the Wagyu is mind-blowing, and the egg yolk dipping sauce is a must β add uni on top of the tartar! π€ Kinjiro Known as the hardest-to-book izakaya β email reservations needed two weeks ahead. All uni dishes were fantastic β paradise for uni lovers 𧑠Also tried tempura and beef β solid but not standout. The space is small yet spacious β great for quiet dinners or dates! If it werenβt for the email hassle, Iβd go more often. Must-order: Uni, ikura, scallop & blue crab bowl Uni risotto Seared uni π€ n/soto Forgot to take pics β too busy eating because itβs seriously good! Cozy little spot. Loved the Ankimo and King Crab Monaka. The much-hyped bone marrow was a bit too rich for me β not a must.πβ€οΈ π€ Bar Sawa Love the decor β classy and perfect for dates π₯ Every dish was tasty, and the basque cheesecake dessert won me over completely. Tip: The entrance is tricky β call when you arrive. π€ Kogane A rising star in the SGV Japanese scene β the chef is super sweet! Celebrated my boyfriendβs birthday here β service was impeccable. Manager Jon helped me arrange surprises smoothly.ππ Memorable dish: three types of uni + black sesame ice cream. Dinner runs $300+ per person, but lunch omakase is better value at $120. #Yazawa #Kinjiro #nSoto #BarSawa #Kogane #LAJapanese #Yakiniku #UniHeaven #DateNightSpot
