LA Fusion Beautiful Food – A Bit Pricey but Worth It 😍
For my birthday, I chose RasaRumah after seeing all the hype online—and it actually surprised me! Let’s be real: it’s not high on affordability. The menu doesn’t use expensive ingredients, but the prices aren’t low either. The value lies in the thoughtfulness behind each dish—flavors and execution are top-notch. No disappointment here, just pleasant surprises! 🥗 Gado Gado & Chips Dips – Refreshing flavors, loved every sauce! 🐟 Fish Collar – Fried fish neck—often sold out! Specially spiced and super tender. 🍳 Chao Kwai Kok – Probably costs $2 to make (just shredded veggies, fried rice noodles, fried egg), but the creativity and taste won me over. The fried noodles reminded me of Northern Chinese street food—so even if it’s overpriced, I didn’t mind! 🍖 Beef Cheek Rendang – So satisfying! Thought it’d be small, but it was well-portioned. The wagyu was a bit too rich for me though. 🔥 Skewers – Every one was delicious, no complaints! We’d heard it’s always packed, but it wasn’t too busy when we arrived—maybe it gets busier after 7 PM. We made a reservation, but walk-ins might be possible? The flavors are adapted for Western palates—not super authentic, but thoughtfully tweaked and even inspiring. Service wasn’t Michelin-level, but it’s typical for this style of dining—no pressure, which was nice! Overall: 8.5/10. A rare LA find—delicious, reasonably priced “pretty food.” Hope it stays this good next time! #LAEats #LALife #RasaRumah #SoutheastAsianFood #BirthdayInLA #FusionCuisine #PrettyFood #HiddenGem #LAFoodGuide
