LA Hidden Gem Beach: Hermosa Beach 🌊✨
I originally went because of its fame as a filming location for La La Land, but ended up discovering a peaceful beach getaway! In the movie, Ryan Gosling’s character Sebastian strolls along Hermosa Pier at sunset singing “City of Stars”—a scene I absolutely love. 💫 Later, Sebastian and Mia often hang out at The Lighthouse Cafe—such an enviable romance! 💑 Walking, jogging, walking dogs, surfing, beach volleyball… Spend a whole day by the sea—no rush, no checklist. Sit on the sand, dig a hole, put your phone inside playing music, and just gaze at the ocean. Quietly wait for sunset from afternoon till dusk. 🌅 At night, grab a casual dinner at the famous The Lighthouse Cafe and stay for live music! That night was Jazz Jam Session w/ Jacques Lesure—amazing vibes! The veteran artist was incredible, and lots of UCLA students signed up to perform too. Later I learned that only Monday nights are jazz—when I went again on a Thursday (for a Tinder date 😅), it was alternative music. Still fun, but I personally prefer live jazz! 🎷 📍 Hermosa Beach About 40–60 minutes from West Hollywood, south of Venice Beach—you can drive south along the coast to get there.
