🍰 LA Hidden Gems | My Go-To Handmade Desserts

As a certified dessert and bread enthusiast (I often eat them as meals 😂), I’ve joined pretty much every local Asian handmade bakery group in LA and ordered from them multiple times. Here are my top favorites — the ones I keep coming back to! Shoutout to these incredibly talented home bakers — y’all are amazing! 🙌 (Some photos are mine, others are from the bakers — credit to them 📸) 🧁 Sumi 💕 My absolute treasure! I’ve tried almost all of their cheese boxes and cake boxes — obsessed! Their molten mochi balls and mochi blanket cakes are next-level delicious. 🍮 Lumi Sweets 🍰 Best puff pastries I’ve had in LA — no exaggeration! Lots of other desserts are fantastic too. 🍓 Blooming Dessert Think chocolate mango sandwiches, matcha strawberry mochi Basques — need I say more? As delicious as they sound! 🎂 Mua Cake Excellent lava tarts, Basque cheesecakes, cake rolls, and custom birthday cakes. 🧀 Lulu’s Their black truffle ham lava Basque is INSANELY good! They also offer a wide variety of cake boxes. 🍰 Molly’s Bakery A must for pork floss treats! Their tiger skin mochi pork floss rolls are mind-blowing 🐯 Also love their taro pork floss cakes, durian mille crepes, and snow glutinous dumplings. Originally only in Rowland Heights, but they’re planning a DTLA spot soon! 🍞 Lin Bakery & ⑧Ding Bakery As popular as Ginza toast — you have to be quick when they open orders! If you know, you know 😉 🥮 Icey Bakery Highly recommend their salted egg yolk mochi taro pork floss squares and ice cream buns — loaded with filling and super satisfying! 🥖 Bao Bao Bread Recently trending cheese buns — so creamy, milky, and not overly sweet. Their molten toast is also a winner! 🧁 Pupu Bake Haven’t had a single miss from them! Especially the salted egg yolk taro mochi pork floss Basque — it’s lava-style and a total must-try 💯 🍡 Michelle’s Cake Their snow glutinous dumplings and molten cream puffs are incredibly light and generously stuffed.
