LA Korean Food | Soban 🍽️
A spot known for its celebrity visits—rumor has it the Parasite crew held their Oscar celebration here! The staff were welcoming, and the hostess even spoke fluent Mandarin, which was a nice surprise. 😲 The menu is concise. Their famous dish is the Soy-Marinated Raw Crab, but we skipped it to avoid any… adventurous stomach situations. Here’s what we tried: 🟤 Braised Short Rib (Galbi Jjim) – Tender, fall-off-the-bone beef with a slightly Chinese-inspired sauce. Small portion though. 🟤 Spicy Octopus – Recommended by staff; the octopus was quite fresh and chewy, with a nice kick. 🔴 Spicy Fish Roe Stew – Not recommended. The roe lacked flavor and had a strong fishy taste. 🟤 Kimchi Stew – Just okay, nothing memorable. 🟤 Seafood Tofu Pancake – Crispy and tasty, a safe choice. 🟤 Side dishes – A generous and varied selection, probably the highlight! Overall, Soban feels pretty average for K-Town—especially if you’re not here for the raw crab. There are plenty of other Korean spots in LA with more consistent flavors and better value. #LosAngelesEats #KoreanFoodLA #Soban #KtownLA #FoodReview #ParasiteRestaurant #LADining #NotWorthTheHype #EatLocal #LAFoodie
