LA Ktown | TOKKI

This restaurant is located in the busiest part of Ktown! šŸ™ļø It’s surrounded by many spots I’ve visited before—like Quarters, Louders, Melo Melo, and the student favorite Sun Nong Dan—but I only recently discovered TOKKI and decided to give it a try. 🧐 The interior is dimly lit, with black-and-white anime projected on the walls. The music is pretty loud, and the chatter from other tables makes it feel more like a bar. šŸŽµšŸ» If you prefer a quieter vibe, maybe consider takeout—but the food is definitely tasty! šŸ˜‹ We ordered a bunch of their popular dishes: šŸž Uni Toast The toast is topped with cucumber slices and a generous portion of sea urchin. The uni wasn’t fishy but leaned a bit salty. It’s cut into three pieces—I only had one, and when my friend suggested ordering another round, I passed. 🚫 Good for a light try, but not worth over-ordering. 🌹 Rose Tteokbokki Saw rave reviews saying it’s great with rice—and they were right! Probably the highlight of the meal. 🄘✨ Totally different from traditional spicy rice cakes, but the flavor really suits the Asian palate. I even checked Uber Eats later to see if they delivered…sadly, they don’t. 😢 šŸš Kimchi Fried Rice Pretty standard—not much different from other places. šŸ„ Dea-chang Over Rice Beef intestines with quite a bit of fat—not really my thing, but edible with rice. The rice helps cut the greasiness. I usually love pork intestines, but after trying a popular Korean spot with super fatty beef intestines…let’s just say it wasn’t for me. 🄓 šŸ— Hot & Sweet Chicken Spicier than typical fried chicken, with less noticeable sweetness—but still tasty. (Then again, it’s hard to go wrong with fried chicken, right?) šŸ˜… We originally wanted the Hokkaido Scallops, but they weren’t available that day. We got the dish in the third photo instead…and it was not good. Not good at all. šŸ‘Ž Have you been to TOKKI? What did you think—any dishes you’d recommend? Or is there another Ktown spot you love?
