Recently had over ten sushi/sashimi meals in LA and narrowed it down to these three affordable yet high-quality spots: 1️⃣ Mama M Sushi A low-key Japanese spot in Pasadena — quality and flavor rival Osawa, but I prefer this place (Osawa’s great but the wait is long; Mama M is convenient and wallet-friendly). Their lunch special bowls feature super fresh fish — the salmon is especially rich and buttery. The marinated tuna is also delicious over rice — highly recommend! 💰 Around $30 per person 🌟🌟🌟🌟 2️⃣ Fish King Market A seafood market that sells fresh fish at great prices. You can get poke bowls — my combo was salmon + Hawaiian ahi tuna. The salmon was the standout — highly recommended. The tuna depends on your preference. 💰 Around $15 per person 🌟🌟🌟🌟 3️⃣ Belles Beach House A fusion restaurant with a mix of cuisines — super aesthetic inside, popular with influencers and very photogenic. Their miso salmon sushi is a must-try — sweet, savory, and not heavy. Possibly the best creative sushi I’ve had in LA! Burgers and salads here are also solid — no disappointments. Right by Venice Beach — great views too. 💰 Around $45 per person 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Still exploring other spots, but skip H Mart sushi — seasoning is off and not very fresh.
