๐ LA Michelin One-Star Bistro Na's โ Fall 2022 Visit
As one of the few Chinese restaurants abroad to earn a Michelin star, Bistro Na's was a must-visit โ and I ended up really loving it. (Though I may be biased โ I adore seafood ๐โจ.) ๐ Honey Pepper Angus Beef Cubes โ slightly sweet with a smoky finish โ a solid start. ๐ Crispy Prawns โ fried until perfectly crispy and fragrant, even the shells were tasty! Asked the server what the little red berries were โ they answered naturally in English: hawthorn. Clearly knowledgeable. ๐ Zhajiang Noodles โ huge portion, enough for six people to have a small bowl each. Fresh and satisfying. ๐ Stir-Fried Wild Bamboo Shoots with Pork โ super flavorful and perfect with rice. Both the bamboo and pork were well-seasoned. ๐ Braised Abalone & Sea Cucumber with Scallion โ as someone from Shandong, how could I not love this? Tasted just like home-style scallion-braised sea cucumber. Only downside: the sea cucumber was jelly-soft, almost like็ๅญ โ wouldโve been better with more chew. ๐ Manchu Pepper Lamb Chops โ arrived sizzling on an iron plate, peppercorn aroma wafting up. I donโt eat lamb, but my teammate said it was delicious. ๐ Black Cod with Eggplant โ best dish of the night! The cod was braised in a classic Lu cuisine style, and the eggplant soaked up all the savory sauce โ amazing mixed with rice. ๐ Baby Rice & Mushrooms โ tasted just like Mitsuwaโs mushroom snacks โ addictive like fries. ๐ฅฎ Beijing Eight Pastries โ except for the flower cake andthe rest were just okay. Not a must-order. ๐ Pear Soup โ only served hot that day (maybe freshly made). Tasty, though! Small note: three different servers came to ask about drinks shortly after we sat โ maybe unclear role assignments? Overall โ really delicious, on par with upscale restaurants in China. Portions are generous โ best to come with friends to try more dishes. ๐ Bistro Na's 9055 Las Tunas Dr, Temple City, CA 91780 #FoodieSummer #BistroNas #FoodieLife #MyFoodDiary #Michelin #MichelinRestaurantVisit
