๐ LA Michelin Pick | Ardor
๐ Ambiance Located on the first floor of the Edition Hotel โ cozy but feels quite corporate. ๐๐ป Service Friendly and polite, though a bit distant โ not quite Michelin-star level. Mightโve been short-staffed because it was Christmas Eve ๐. ๐ถ Water First time Iโve felt the need to comment on water lol โ tasted a bit odd. Chilled to the core with a slight off-flavor, almost like it lacked โbreathabilityโ (getting scientific here loll). ๐ Japanese Milk Bread Warm, fragrant, and absolutely delicious โ fluffy with beautiful layers. ๐ฃ Bass Crudo Fish was fresh, sauce was olive oil and serrano pepper, but the flavor didnโt really penetrate the fish. Mightโve worked better as carpaccio. ๐ฒ Pumpkin Bisque Well-balanced thickness, warm and comforting aroma. The only hitch: the soup was hot while the cream and fish cream at the bottom were cold โ a slightly clashing contrast. ๐จ Sorbet Refreshing, not too sweet, perfectly balanced โ very appetizing. The single peppercorn on top had a subtle gasoline-like note (weirdly interesting?) that added depth, though Iโm not sure why this came as the second course. ๐ฆ Duck Breast Not tender enough, with a noticeable gamey taste. The berry sauce neither masked nor complemented the duck โ overall felt mismatched. Not a recommend. ๐ฅฉ Filet Mignon Excellent beef quality, seasoned simply with salt and pepper. Served with brussels sprouts and king oyster mushrooms โ harmonious and tasty. Strangely reminded me of braised beef noodle soup aroma โ in a good, unique way! ๐ฐ Price ~$150 per person for 4 courses โ left about 60% full. ๐ Overall Flavors might lean mild for those from Northern China, while Southern palates may find it balanced. Solid but not groundbreaking โ you can sense the chefโs attempts at innovation, yet the tastes still feel familiar, not fully breaking from tradition. โ๏ธโ๏ธ Worth a try / Probably wonโt return #MichelinRecommendation #Michelin #MichelinRestaurant #LosAngeles #LA #LALife #LADining
