🍁 LA Michelin Pick | Ardor
🍃 Ambiance Located on the first floor of the Edition Hotel — cozy but feels quite corporate. 💆🏻 Service Friendly and polite, though a bit distant — not quite Michelin-star level. Might’ve been short-staffed because it was Christmas Eve 🍎. 🍶 Water First time I’ve felt the need to comment on water lol — tasted a bit odd. Chilled to the core with a slight off-flavor, almost like it lacked “breathability” (getting scientific here loll). 🍞 Japanese Milk Bread Warm, fragrant, and absolutely delicious — fluffy with beautiful layers. 🍣 Bass Crudo Fish was fresh, sauce was olive oil and serrano pepper, but the flavor didn’t really penetrate the fish. Might’ve worked better as carpaccio. 🍲 Pumpkin Bisque Well-balanced thickness, warm and comforting aroma. The only hitch: the soup was hot while the cream and fish cream at the bottom were cold — a slightly clashing contrast. 🍨 Sorbet Refreshing, not too sweet, perfectly balanced — very appetizing. The single peppercorn on top had a subtle gasoline-like note (weirdly interesting?) that added depth, though I’m not sure why this came as the second course. 🦆 Duck Breast Not tender enough, with a noticeable gamey taste. The berry sauce neither masked nor complemented the duck — overall felt mismatched. Not a recommend. 🥩 Filet Mignon Excellent beef quality, seasoned simply with salt and pepper. Served with brussels sprouts and king oyster mushrooms — harmonious and tasty. Strangely reminded me of braised beef noodle soup aroma — in a good, unique way! 💰 Price ~$150 per person for 4 courses — left about 60% full. 🌟 Overall Flavors might lean mild for those from Northern China, while Southern palates may find it balanced. Solid but not groundbreaking — you can sense the chef’s attempts at innovation, yet the tastes still feel familiar, not fully breaking from tradition. ✔️✖️ Worth a try / Probably won’t return #MichelinRecommendation #Michelin #MichelinRestaurant #LosAngeles #LA #LALife #LADining
