đŁ LA Omakase Mori Nozomi | An All-Female Team Restaurant
This yearâs Michelin star winnerâand probably LAâs first female sushi chef to earn one! Letâs start with the conclusion: the thoughtful service really elevated the meal, showcasing a distinctly feminine attention to detail. The restaurantâs decor appears simple yet elegant and refined. But! From a food perspective, I wasnât completely won over. The sushi seasoning was very subtleâmostly the natural flavor of the fishâbut when I got to the Mackerel, I even felt it was a bit fishy. đ The rest were okay; the eggplant sushi was a first for me. The Fresh Scallop, Bluefin Tuna Belly, and Baby Snapper were pretty good. The Belt Fish and tempura were definite highlights. đ¤ Then thereâs their Instagram-famous: Kegani Ankake Hairy Crab. The plating was beautiful, but the texture was sticky and gloopy, and I could barely taste the crab⌠đ Finished it in confusion. Dessert was quite delicate, and the chef prepared matcha by hand. Since we were celebrating an anniversary, they gave us two tea bagsâso thoughtful! â¤ď¸ đ mori nozomi Still, reservations are hard to get! Tock opens every Sunday at 10 AM for the following week.
