LA Raw Marinated Crab Taste Test: My Top Pick! π¦β¨
Originally wanted to visit a crab house on Thanksgiving but it was closed, so we switched to HanEuem by Chef Kang β and what a pleasant surprise! π Their marinade is absolutely refreshing β savory, slightly sweet, not overly salty, and the seafood is super fresh. The real standout? The raw marinated shrimp! π€ Thick, tender, soaked in a smooth soy-based sauce β truly delicious! The spicy marinated crab is also worth trying. The classic marinated crab was just okay β slight graininess from fine sand on the shell affected the texture. Beef short rib was soft and tasty, while the seafood pancake was pretty average. π¦ My favorite way to enjoy marinated crab: Scoop the crab meat into the small bowl provided (with seaweed, fish roe, pickled radish, and seaweed), add a bit of rice, mix it all up β each bite is a flavor explosion! π π Koreatown Marinated Crab Spot Comparison (My personal experience) Crabhouse Crab quality is top-tier β lots of roe and creamy inside! Spicy version is also well-balanced. Sauce can sometimes be too salty. Other raw marinated items had a slight bitter note. Master Ha Must-try: their uni rice bowl! Shortrib is great too. Crab is decent; other raw marinated dishes are pricey with limited variety. HanEuem by Chef Kang Their raw marinated shrimp is a must-order β probably the tastiest Iβve had! π€ Crab is average, but overall flavor profile is solid. Soban Uses herbal marinade β unique but had a bitter aftertasteβ¦ not my favorite. Tough choice, but based on overall taste and balance β HanEuem by Chef Kang wins for me! π #LALife #LAEats #MarinatedCrab #KoreatownLA #RawCrab #FoodReview #LAFoodie #SeafoodLover #KoreanFood #ThanksgivingEats #HiddenGemLA #FoodieDiary
