LA Restaurant Rec: Iki Ramen π
Originally planned to visit Iki Sushi around 7 PM, but without a reservation, we were told itβd be an 8:30 PM wait. They mentioned Iki Ramen was just across the street to the left, with almost the same menu β so we went there instead! Iki Sushi feels more upscale, like a bar vibe, while Iki Ramen has a more casual, laid-back setting (like a nice spot in a slightly messy area π ). Both locations are in a pretty quiet area at night. What we ordered for two: π£ Premium Grab Handroll β $48 β Delicious π Includes four large hand rolls (we split them): Toro + caviar β rich, buttery, smooth Scallop + uni β sweet scallop, creamy fresh uni Salmon + truffle β flavorful with fragrant truffle Wagyu β smoky, rich, topped with gold leaf π Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen β $23 Rich broth, not too spicy (chili comes on the side in a small dish, not cooked into the soup). Chashu is in small chunks, not big slices, but overall tasty. π Toro Uni Ikura Don β $38 Yummy and generous portion β you can wrap it into hand rolls yourself! π₯ Pork Kakuni Bao β $5 Good but not super memorable β flavor didnβt stand out. π¨ Yuzu Ice Cream β $7 Strong yuzu flavor with kinako (soybean powder) on top, slightly grainy texture, decent portion. Verdict: Great vibe, delicious food. π ΏοΈ Parking is free on the nearby streets (though the area feels a bit quiet/spooky at night). #LAEats #LARestaurants #LAFoodFinds #RamenLove #SushiTime #HiddenGem π
