LA Sushi Sonagi | The Adorable King of Carabinero Shrimp š¦
First off, congrats to them for being included in the MICHELIN GUIDE again this year! Wishing them all the best for earning a star next year! š Overall, this omakase offers a very "unique" seasoning styleāquite different from traditional flavors! But the taste is still pretty well-balanced š. Personally, I still prefer the classic seasoning for my fish šš. A few standout bites: ⢠Abalone with Liver Sauce! A classic combo that never failsāso rich and flavorful! ⢠Smoked Fish with Tender Scallions! The taste was magicalāfirst the smokiness, then a burst of scallion flavor š„. A real multi-layered experience! ⢠Mackerel Sandwich š„Ŗ! This one was really unique. Mackerel lovers will enjoy it, but if youāre sensitive to fishy notes, it might be a bit strong š. ⢠And my favoriteāCarabinero Shrimp Nigiri šŗ! The cute chef paired with the adorable red shrimp⦠that bouncy, juicy bite was pure satisfaction! Most of the nigiri are on the bold sideāeven the tuna came with yuzu kosho on top! The Matsutake Crab Rice was a tad salty, but incredibly fragrant! And if youāre still hungry, you can ask for another bowlāso comforting! šā¤ļø In summary, this isnāt your traditional omakase seasoningāitās got a bit of that New American + Korean sushi fusion vibe š£. If you like bold flavors, youāll probably love this place! I still lean toward the traditional style that doesnāt overpower the fish š, but it was definitely a fun new experience! 𤣠The chef is seriously talentedāto make it into the Michelin Guide just one year after opening is impressive! All in all, a pretty great experience! Have you been to Sushi Sonagi? Which style of omakase do you preferātraditional or modern?
