🌴 LA Thai Food|Ruen Pair — Totally Lives Up to the Hype! 🇹🇭
Last Sunday I was craving Thai food — after browsing through countless posts, I debated between Luv2eat, Ruen Pair, and Holy Basil, and finally chose the most-recommended Ruen Pair. Got there at 7 PM on a Sunday — the line said it all. Put my name down, waited 30 minutes, but food came out fast. And wow — it was SO delicious! ❤️ Highlights: 1️⃣ Stewed Pork Leg Over Rice ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So good! Never had Chinese-style pork leg rice, but this was amazing — tender, flavorful meat, and the rice soaked up all the braising sauce. The side dipping sauce (sour-spicy) wasn’t my favorite with the pork, but still a must-order! 2️⃣ Sautéed Morning Glory ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 Super highly recommended! Almost skipped it thinking, “How good can stir-fried water spinach be?” — but so glad we got it. Full of wok hei, incredibly fragrant — we finished it instantly. 3️⃣ Pad Kee Mao with Shrimp ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First time trying this — loved it! Also packed with wok hei, slightly spicy (maybe 1/5 for spice lovers). You can choose your protein — we went with shrimp. 🔸 Just Okay: 1️⃣ Spicy Clams ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you like savory-spicy flavors, this might not be your favorite. It’s more sweet Thai-style — still tasty (we finished it 😂), but wouldn’t order again. 2️⃣ Coconut Chicken Soup (Tom Kha) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ First few sips were great — coconutty, tangy, spicy. But with coconut milk, it felt heavy and got cloying. I’d stick to classic seafood tom yum next time. 3️⃣ Thai Tea ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pretty average — nothing special. Overall — highly recommend, but everything is quite salty and bold. Drank tons of water afterward! Next time I’d reorder the top three + try their roast duck! 📍 Ruen Pair 5257 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027 💰 About $50/person (portions aren’t huge, so we ordered a lot) #ThaiFood #RestaurantRecommendation #FoodDiary #LosAngeles #LAEats #LAThaiFood
