So good β we were stuffed but still powered through every course. Go try UKA before it gets impossible to book! We chose a window table β super comfy couch with a view of the Hollywood nightscape π. π Now onto the food: π Drinks: Yuzu Sparkling Juice and Muryozan Sake β both incredibly refreshing. π² Course 1: Dashi for the Five Senses Clear, delicate kombu + bonito broth. π₯ Course 2: Playful appetizers Included a devil-head-shaped carrot π₯π with a brown sugar cookie stick β meant for βexorcismβ π. Carrot served in a daikon box. Braised tuna was also delicious. π Course 3: Dashi returns With cooked tai (sea bream), bamboo shoot, and veggies. The bamboo shoot was tender and sweet β tasted like corn! Broth was beautifully layered. π£ Courses 4β5: Sashimi One aged seafood, one classic sashimi. Bafun uni was creamy and amazing β portion was generous. π Course 6: Simmered Salmon with Egg Wrap My favorite dish! Salmon rich and tender, wrapped in egg β paired with dashi = pure happiness. π Course 7: Teriyaki Yellowtail with Turnip Liked the turnip more than the fish β with green sauce, it was incredible. π§ Course 8: Surprise off-menu dish Oyster + cheese served in a lemon π β lemon scent was a nice touch. This is where we started feeling seriously fullβ¦ π₯© Course 9: Miyazaki A5 Wagyu Shabu-Shabu π£ Course 10: Chirashi Sushi with Egg Crepe The one that didnβt wow me β rice wasnβt great, but the hojicha served with it was excellent. π§ Dessert: Red bean jelly + matcha ice cream + fried mochi chips + strawberry π Finally had sweet, flavorful strawberries in the US β so satisfying! π UKA π° ~$350 per person #Omakase #HiddenGemEats #LAFood #LosAngeles #LAFoodie #LADateSpot #Michelin
