Lahpet | A Hidden Gem Restaurant in London
🌴 I’ve always been a fan of Southeast Asian cuisine for its diverse spices and unique flavors. I usually go for Thai or Vietnamese, but trying Burmese food was a first for me. A friend recommended this tucked-away spot in Covent Garden, and I decided to give it a go. Totally got hooked! 💕 It felt like discovering a new world of Burmese cuisine – absolutely delicious! Stepping into the restaurant, I was instantly drawn to the elegant and refreshing ambiance. The pure wooden tables and chairs, green plants everywhere, and the outdoor terrace tables are so chill ✨ 【Favorite Dishes】with photos 🐟 Whole Fried Bream – A signature dish at Lahpet that’s truly amazing! The chef separates the fish bone from the meat, frying the bones to a crispy golden brown, while the meat remains tender and flavorful. Dipped in the special sauce, the combination of the fresh fish and the tangy sauce is just perfect! 🥗 Tea Leaf Salad – This salad made with tea leaves is surprisingly good! It has a slight sour and bitter taste at first, but when mixed with sweet beans, various crispy nuts, and shredded purple cabbage, it becomes refreshingly delicious with a natural sweet aftertaste! 🍤 King Prawn Curry – I absolutely love this dish! The prawns are huge, tender, and bouncy. The curry is rich in flavor, and when paired with the special sauce that has a tomato and onion twist, it’s a mouthful of happiness with a mix of freshness and a hint of spice. 🍜 Coconut Noodles with Chicken – If you’re a coconut milk fan, you must try this dish! The sweetness of the coconut milk is infused in every noodle, and the chicken is cooked to tender perfection. I finished the noodles and drank up the soup – it was sweet and left a lingering taste! 🍮 Pandan & Coconut Cream Brulee – A dessert recommended by the staff that’s uniquely flavored. The brulee has a smooth texture with the delicate aroma of coconut milk and pandan leaves. The surprise at the bottom with sago pearls was a delightful touch, and the sweetness was just right. I’ll definitely order it again next time! 💐 The whole atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable, and the service is warm and attentive. The staff’s knowledge of Burmese cuisine is impressive, and I even picked up some new insights. For those in London looking to try Burmese food, I give it a full score recommendation! ❣️ 🕗 Opening Hours: Mon-Sat 12:00–22:00, Sun 12:00–21:00 #LondonFood #LondonBurmeseCuisine #LondonLahpet #UKFood #LondonAmbientRestaurants #LondonLife #LondonMustEat
