Lately I’ve been really into yakitori

here’s a little review of spots in Irvine and Vegas! 🍢 I’m not super picky about yakitori—just looking for: • Properly cooked over the fire 🔥 • Seasoning that doesn’t overpower the natural flavor of the meat Raku is still a solid choice! 👍 • Foie Gras Don: Rich, thick foie gras, not gamey at all. Served with teriyaki sauce over well-textured rice and a bit of shredded cabbage to cut the richness—so good! • Oyako Don: Felt like a soupy rice bowl, very moist, almost steamed. Lightly seasoned besides the chicken, but the rice, egg, and onion were flavorful. • Gizzard: Nice and chewy—great with a sprinkle of chili powder. • Chicken Wings (daily special): Teriyaki sauce with a hint of spice, crispy outside and tender inside. • Eringi Mushroom: Super juicy! • Tsukune with runny egg: Delicious, absolutely tasty! • Raku Tofu: Felt like eating a tofu mousse—so smooth. Hondaya: • Ankimo (monkfish liver): Very fishy, weird hollow texture—not a fan. • Veggies (okra, bacon-wrapped asparagus): A bit burnt and bitter—not great. • Chicken wings and chicken meatballs: Okay, decent. • Sashimi Bowl: Ingredients were fine, nothing special—good.
