LEILA｜ San Diego Exotic Restaurant 🕌

Last weekend, I visited a very unique restaurant in San Diego called LEILA with friends. As soon as I walked in, I was captivated by the sight—a starry sky ceiling 🌌, enchanting Middle Eastern music playing in the background, and exquisite Turkish oil lamps on the tables. The entire space was filled with an exotic atmosphere, making me feel as if I had been transported to a distant land. However, I should remind everyone that this restaurant is incredibly popular. I heard that reservations need to be made a month in advance to secure a table. Since we walked in directly, we could only sit at the bar. The bar seating was quite cramped, and the lighting in the restaurant was very dim. While this was meant to create ambiance, it did affect the dining experience a bit, making it even a little difficult to read the menu 😅. When browsing the menu, I noticed they had an extensive drink list with many signature cocktails that looked tempting. Unfortunately, I couldn’t drink recently, so I had to pass on these special beverages. However, I tried their Turkish coffee, which was truly rich and flavorful. Coffee lovers should give it a try ☕️. As for the food, I found it to be decent. The portions were generous, offering good value for the price. We ordered several signature dishes, and while they tasted good, nothing was particularly outstanding. If you’re a foodie seeking exceptional flavors, you might find it slightly lacking. But if you’re looking to experience the ambiance and try new tastes, this is still a nice choice. I noticed many young women taking photos in the restaurant, and it’s no wonder—the decor and lighting are very photogenic. The starry backdrop and exotic decorations make for great pictures 📸. Overall, LEILA is a restaurant where the ambiance outweighs the food. If you enjoy exotic vibes and are looking for a unique place for a date or gathering, it’s worth a visit. But if you’re a “food enthusiast” who prioritizes the dishes themselves, you might need to adjust your expectations.
